EXHIBITIONS AND CONCERTS

Izstādes un koncerti

A museum has been operating in the Jelgava Palace since 1968, where you can get acquainted with the history of the old castle of the Livonian Order and the construction of the new Jelgava Palace, as well as with the most interesting historical facts and testimonies. In 2001 and 2002, an archaeological expedition led by Dr.hist. Guntis Zemitis, carried out the first archaeological excavations on the territory of the Jelgava Palace. Excavations carried out on a small area have provided a rich set of findings - decorative facing tiles, stove, remains of decorative Dutch smoking pipes, coins and other items that have been added to the museum's exposition.

Every year the Jelgava Palace hosts various exhibitions of painting, applied art, photography and graphics, which are mainly located in the Foyer of the Central Hall on the 2nd floor of the Jelgava Palace.

In the Jelgava Palace large-scale concerts are also held, such as a solo concert of Sonora Vaice, concerts of amateur art groups of the LBTU, the Students’ Folk Festival and others.
